Understanding Anointing - Part 2

You cannot walk with God like Enoch, have faith like Abraham, patience like Job and understanding of times like Daniel without having anointing. All these patriarchs were anointed by God to do the extraordinary. It is interesting to know that anointing can be transferred (Acts 19:12); hence, oil or laying of hands is used as a transfer medium of anointing as evidenced in the Bible. In other words, the oil is a symbolic representation of the physical anointing. However, it must be noted that anointing cannot be contained in a bottle, vial or jar. “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us” (2Corinthians 4:7).

It is very stressful to serve God without anointing, as that is exact definition of frustration. Every mission is accompanied by peculiar anointing to fulfil the mandate. Brethren, as you remain faithful to what He has called you to do, your level of anointing will increase. It is imperative to understand that anointing is for service and not for a show off. It is for making exploits for the Kingdom and not for exploitation! The anointing is for impact making and not for mere impartation. There are terrific manifestations of the anointing recorded in the Bible. Hebrews chapter 11 talks about women who received their dead back to life and men who shut the mouth of lion. It was told of E.W. Kenyon who walked in a dimension of faith and power that no one in his church would die before attaining 70 years. History also tells us about John G. Lake who operated in a great dimension of anointing for healing. It was said that he laid his hand on a sick woman who got home, removed her clothes and saw the imprint of his hand on her skin. What a great power of anointing! It was recorded that someone came to A.A. Allen with an alligator skin. As he held the person’s skin and literally peeled it off, he saw a new skin. There are depths and heights; there are dimensions and realms! At a certain time, the Holy Spirit carried Philip away and he appeared somewhere. Enoch walked with God and he did not taste death. Elijah knew the exact exit point between heaven and earth.

Finally, the mandate of CEDAR is to build change agents with the power of anointing to make impact in the world. So, if you desire to make impact in your world, you must tap into the anointing being released from the altar. The church of God was built with the power of anointing. God bless you. (To be contd.) SHALOM.
