His Presence and Glory

The evidence of God’s presence in a place is the manifestation of His glory. What is the biblical meaning of glory? The Hebrew word which is used for glory in the Old Testament simply means “heaviness” or “weight”. It was used in everyday speech to express the worth of a person in the material sense, and then to express the ideas of importance, greatness, honour, splendour, power, etc.

Therefore, anywhere and anytime there is demonstration of God’s power and greatness; the glory of His presence is resident. The aura and splendour of God’s glory is unquantifiable and unfathomable! The Israelites could not withstand the intensity of Moses’ shining face; after waiting in God’s presence on Mount Sinai for forty days and nights. *“And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him”* (Exodus 34:30). Interestingly, Moses himself was oblivious of the fact that he had been engulfed in the glory of God. If you want to be the radiator of God’s glory, then you need to cultivate the habit of staying in His presence. Seeking the face of God in the place of prayers, fasting and meditation in His word requires separation in solitude. The event that happened on the Mountain of Transfiguration confirms solitude as a means of attracting God’s glory. Jesus Christ took Peter, James and John his brother to the mountain where He was transfigured before them. The scripture says *“… His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light”* (Matthew 17:2). The glory of God takes residence in the lives of people who take pleasure in dwelling in His presence. In addition, anyone who will be the carrier of God’s glory must be a dweller of His secret place. *“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”* (Psalms 91:1). The secret place and shadow of God is His glorious presence! Perpetual dwelling in the secret place of God is the absolute and sure guarantee of His presence.

Friend, do you want to radiate the beauty and glory of God? Sin is a major obstacle to entering and dwelling in God’s presence. Thus, you must first be identified with Him; then be separated unto a life of holiness and righteousness. Furthermore, you must be committed to waiting on God and tarrying in His presence. Welcome to your month of His presence and glory. Happy New Month! *SHALOM*
