Last week, we started considering the 7 “highways of life” that are the duty posts of Streetwise Apostles as in the book of Revelation 5:12 “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing”. I explained that POWER refers to the arena of politics.
The second is RICHES which symbolizes economy. God wants men in the arena of commerce, industry and business, who do not serve the god of mammon. They maybe boardroom gurus, entrepreneurs and CEOs, but their focus has not shifted from the cross. These are men who receive anointing to make wealth and serve God with their substance and all their hearts. The third is WISDOM which is the “highway” of education. Education is too strategic to be left alone by God. He seeks for people to anoint in the church and send out as His ambassadors on this highway, where destinies are mutated and multitude of people (especially the young ones) are lost, misguided and misdirected. These are ambassadors who do not only serve as moulders of destiny but also as signposts to the Kingdom.
The fourth is STRENGTH which is the highway of science and technology. This is what is driving the fourth industrial revolution and it is therefore, crucial to the agenda of heaven. The good news is that our God is still in the business of raising men like Bezaleel who go beyond the pedestal of mere knowledge to the realm of innovation and creativity (Ex. 31:4-6); with the goal of coming up with new devices via the knowledge of science and technology. The devil is full of devices and God needs some of us to represent Him here, without necessarily wearing a collar.
I will conclude this series next week. But I want us to consider how we are faring wherever we find ourselves. We must stop seeing the secular arena as a free playing field for the devil or fulfilment of personal ambition. We are expected to convert it to platforms for God. You are expected to take charge of your area of influence or domain of eminence, to represent Him appropriately. God is interested in positioning His people not for self-aggrandizement, but to create avenues for His will to be accomplished on earth. May the Lord grant us the grace to represent Him wherever we find ourselves in Jesus name. Remember, you may be the answer being provided to the prayers of some people! To be continued. Shalom.
