Times of Refreshing

No matter how dark the cloud is, there will always be a silver lining. Usually, cloud precedes the rainbow. Difficult times are just but for a period, they are not permanent. Little wonder, the Psalmist remarked that *“…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”* (Ps. 30:5). Regardless of how long you might have been weeping, I assure you that your season of rejoicing is very much around the corner. I implore you to wait patiently as you hold on to God.

The time of refreshing is the time of joy which comes from being in the presence of God. I mean God’s presence is the only source of lasting refreshing. With this understanding, King David declared *“Thou will shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand, there are pleasures for evermore”* (Ps. 16:11). The attendant blessings of dwelling in God’s presence include fullness of joy and unending pleasures. To attract God’s presence, one must repent of his or her sinful ways and be converted to a new life. To experience times of refreshing, one must endeavour to abide in God’s presence and trust Him fully. Repentance means turning away from the old sinful habits and living a life of holiness. It takes a consecrated and regenerated heart to access and dwell in God’s presence. Is your heart pure and upright before God? Apostle Peter answered the men of Israel who marveled at the healing of the lame at the Beautiful Gate: *“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord”* (Acts 3:19). As a church, we need to turn from all our sinful ways, humble ourselves before God, and seek His face in prayers. It is then we will be able to attract His presence for forgiveness, and healing of our lives. *“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”* (2 Chro. 7:14). No doubt, our nation is currently going through difficult times that need divine intervention. If all the citizens of this country can repent, humble themselves and pray, God will listen and bring unto us times of refreshing.

As we draw closer to God, He will draw closer to us. God will bring unto you times of refreshing in Jesus mighty name. The cloud over your life will soon be replaced with rainbow in Jesus’ name. Repose your trust and confidence in God. *PEACE*
