God's Timing

Life often feels like a race – everyone around us seems to be achieving something, and we find ourselves wondering, “When will it be my turn?” In a world where success is measured by quick results and rapid progress, it is easy to become impatient. However, as Christians, we know that God does not work according to our human schedules. Instead, He works with His time, and His timing is perfect.

Psalms 139:116 (Living Bible Translation) states: *“You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!”* while Ecclesiastes 3:11 admonishes: *"He has made everything beautiful in its time".* These scriptural passages remind us that every season of our lives, no matter how challenging, is part of God’s divine plan. Consider the life of Abraham who waited for years, enduring uncertainty and doubt along the way for the fulfilment of God’s promise - the birth of Isaac. What of Joseph who was sold into slavery and later imprisoned, but eventually rose to become a ruler in Egypt – all according to God’s perfect timing. Even Jesus Christ waited for 30 years before beginning His ministry. These examples remind us that delays and waiting periods are not denials but rather opportunities for growth and preparation. When we face moments of waiting, we may feel frustrated or overlooked. Yet, God’s timing is never a mistake. Isaiah 40:31 reassures us, *"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."* This verse tells us that our hope in God will provide us with renewed strength during periods of waiting. It encourages us to trust that God is actively preparing something better for us, even if we cannot see it yet. Instead of worrying about delays or comparing our progress to that of others, we are called to be still and patient. Psalms 37:7 admonishes, *"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him."* In a fast-paced environment like ours where economic uncertainties and social pressures abound, learning to wait patiently is a vital act of faith. It is in these quiet moments that God refines our character, teaches us perseverance, inculcates humility in us, and builds our trust in Him. Furthermore, understanding God’s timing helps us to appreciate every season of life. Every struggle, every delay, and every trial has a purpose (Eccl. 3:1). Whether it is a season of waiting or a season of breakthrough, each period is an opportunity for spiritual growth and transformation.

Beloved, if you find yourself waiting, remember that delay is not denial. God is preparing you for a future that is far greater than you can imagine. Stay faithful, continue to work diligently, and trust that at His timing, His beautiful plans for your life will unfold. God bless you richly.
