No Impossibility

Have you ever faced a situation that looked impossible? It might be a financial burden that seemed too heavy to bear, a relationship that appeared beyond repair, or a dream that seemed too far out of reach. We all encounter moments when the odds are stacked against us, when the ‘mountain’ before us appears too steep to climb. At these moments, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, discouraged, and hopeless. These impossible moments are precisely where God shows up.

In Luke 18:27, Jesus says, *"What is impossible with man is possible with God."* This verse is not just a nice phrase to make us feel better. It is a profound truth that has played out time and time again in the lives of God's people throughout the Bible. Take the story of Abraham and Sarah, for example. God promised them a son, but they were both well past childbearing age. Based on the knowledge of science and medicine, their case had come hopeless and the promise practically impossible to realise. Yet, in Genesis 21:1-2, the scripture says *"Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age."* What seemed impossible was made possible by God's power. Similarly, consider the Israelites standing before the Red Sea with the Egyptian army closing in behind them. They had no way out and had no escape route. It was an impossible situation. But in Exodus 14:21, *"Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land."* What was impossible became a pathway to freedom and progress. But trusting God amid practically impossible situation is not always easy. So, what do we do when faced with the impossible? First, it requires faith; faith that God is who He says He is, and that He will do what He has promised, even when we cannot see how. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as *"confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."* This kind of faith looks beyond our circumstances and focuses on the character and promises of God. Second, we need to pray. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, *"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."*

Prayer is our lifeline to God, and the means by which we invite His power into our situation. Is there any situation that appears hopeless to you now? I pray that God will be gracious to you, as He did to Sarah in Jesus name. God bless you. (To be contd.). *SHALOM*
