Welcome to the month of September to remember for good in your life and family. As you go through this month, God will show you divine token for goodness in Jesus’ name. I must clarify from the outset that depending on the contextual setting, there is a difference between token and tokenism. While the latter refers to minimal level of something, the former refers to a proof, key to or evidence of something.
The Bible says *“Every good gift and perfect gift is from above ...”* (James 1:17). God’s goodness entails elements like generousity, faithfulness, mercy, favour, grace, lovingkindness, etc. The gospel is an embodiment of the good news, which reflects God’s goodness to the whole world. In Psalms 86:16-17, David requested for a token for the goodness of God. *“O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; … Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed …”* He started by soliciting divine attention, asking God to turn unto him for mercy, strength and salvation. When God turns to you and shows you a token of His goodness, He turns around your situation with apparent testimony; He gives you unmistaken clue for progress. He changes your status from obscurity to limelight or from condemnation to celebration! Divine token for goodness is synonymous with the kindness of God. A notable example of someone who was shown the kindness of God was Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, who was a lame. *“And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet”* (2 Sam. 9:3). Do you desire a divine token for goodness in any area of your life? I hereby prophesy into your life that the ember months of 2023 shall be the period of express manifestation of favour of God in your life in Jesus’ name! Turn to God in genuine repentance today if you are not born again, and ask for His mercy. It does not take God a second to change your status. I pray for you today; God will bring to your way the human agent for your divine turnaround in Jesus’ name. Keep trusting God and wait patiently on Him. Do not cut corners! He will turn to you NOW!
In Psalms 23:6, David emphatically declared perpetual goodness and mercy of God upon his life: *“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”*. God’s presence is guaranteed for every recipient of a divine token for goodness! God’s presence will be with you in this new month and beyond. Happy New Month!
